Clergy and ministry leadership pathways
How AIC Diaspora Area identifies, prepares and supports those called to lead.
What this pathway is, and what it is not
AIC Diaspora Area does not operate an independent ordination system. We provide a transparent referral and support pathway: we identify potential candidates, verify ministry service, facilitate theological formation, provide mentoring, and submit eligible candidates to the appropriate AIC Kenya authority in accordance with the Constitution and approved procedures.
| Stage | Purpose | Typical content |
|---|---|---|
| Identification | Recognise spiritually mature members with gifts and willingness to serve. | Character, calling, participation and references. |
| Orientation | Introduce AIC identity, doctrine, governance and ministry expectations. | Vision, values, structure, reporting and conduct. |
| Core training | Build essential ministry and leadership competence. | Bible handling, pastoral care, facilitation, safeguarding, governance and communication. |
| Supervised service | Allow practical experience with mentoring and feedback. | Assigned ministry role, observation and review. |
| Appointment or recognition | Confirm service within approved AIC processes. | Formal role, mandate, term and accountability. |
| Continuing development | Maintain competence and spiritual health. | Annual training, peer learning, retreat and supervision. |
| Succession and transition | Protect continuity and orderly handover. | Deputy development, records, handover and exit review. |
Commit these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.
