Privacy and data protection
What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
Awaiting review
This notice has not yet been reviewed by a qualified adviser. It describes accurately what the website does, but it is not a substitute for legal advice and must be reviewed before launch.
What we collect, and what we never collect
We do not collect immigration or visa status, health conditions, income or financial details, national ID or passport numbers, bank or card details, your exact home address, or your full date of birth. This is enforced in the code: a form asking for any of these cannot be built.
Why we collect it
To connect you with a fellowship or coordinator, to respond to what you ask for, and to run the ministry described in our Strategic Plan. We do not sell or share your details.
How your information is protected
Pastoral, welfare and safeguarding submissions are encrypted and stored separately from everything else. Safeguarding submissions go only to the designated Safeguarding Lead, and every time one is opened, that access is recorded.
How long we keep it
General enquiries are kept for 12 months. Registration details are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until we ask you to re-confirm after 24 months. Pastoral and safeguarding records are governed by their own policies and are not deleted by the website.
Where your information goes
AIC Diaspora Area serves members in many countries, so your information may be handled in a country other than your own. The specific arrangements are being confirmed with a qualified adviser.
Cookies and analytics
We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Any analytics we use is cookieless and does not identify you, which is why this site has no cookie banner.
Asking to see, correct or delete your details
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Use the data and privacy route on our feedback page. A request about a safeguarding record is handled by the designated lead, and that handling is itself recorded.
