AIC Diaspora Area

Who we are

The Area’s vision, mission and motto, and what they commit us to.

Our motto

Rooted in Christ, Reaching the Nations

  • Vision

To be a globally connected AIC community that is rooted in Christ, growing in faith, and actively reaching the nations through discipleship, fellowship and service.

  • Mission

To disciple, equip and mobilise believers in the diaspora for faithful Christian living, effective ministry and Kingdom influence among the nations.

What this means

On the vision

The vision emphasises connectedness, spiritual rootedness, growth and mission. Connectedness means members retain meaningful relationships with one another and with AIC Kenya. Rootedness means Christ and Scripture remain central despite cultural pressure. Growth includes maturity in doctrine, character, prayer, service and leadership. Reaching the nations recognises that diaspora placement is an opportunity for gospel witness and compassionate service.

What the vision emphasises

  • Connectedness
  • Spiritual rootedness
  • Growth
  • Mission

On the mission

The mission gives the Church three linked responsibilities. To disciple is to nurture believers toward maturity. To equip is to provide knowledge, skills, pastoral support and ministry opportunities. To mobilise is to move believers from passive association to active service and witness. Kingdom influence is not limited to formal church programmes; it includes faithful Christian presence in families, workplaces, universities, communities and public life.

What the mission asks of us

  • Disciple
  • Equip
  • Mobilise

Globally connected

One Church, in these nations

The vision begins with connectedness. In practice that means AIC fellowships meeting in these countries, each connected to the others and to AIC Kenya.

Kenya is not one of our diaspora countries. It is where the Church we belong to is based, and the authority we serve under. Our relationship with AIC Kenya

Accountable leadership

The people who carry it

The vision and mission are not statements the Area admires from a distance. They are what its leaders are accountable for delivering, through the approved AIC process.

That they may all be one … so that the world may believe.
